“Summer of ‘Love’” Fun Day – on Saturday, 7/19/08!

Yes, you heard it right! You get 2 Fun Day formats in July! Most of your tournament crew is going to be taking July off, but we won’t let that get in the way of enjoying some great tennis at the peak of summer!
Feel that summer warmth running through your veins … and you know it is time for layin’ down a little “Love” on your brothers and sisters! So, pull out your old tie dyed shirts and shorts, and find your strings of love beads, and come on out and celebrate the 41st anniversary of the “Summer of Love”. Don’t know what that is? Here’s a clue: If you remember it … you weren’t there! But don’t let that slow you down, this day will be memorable for sure!
Here is the plan:
Come any ol’ time man … like between 9 AM and 3 PM on Saturday, July 19th.
And bring some cool groovin’ music with you too man … you know, from like 1968 … Jefferson Airplane, Led Zeppelin, Hendrix, Joplin, The Doors … (bring it on CD’s or maybe an iPod man, cause we don’t have one of those cool old phonograph things anymore …)
And bring a potluck dish to share man … cause, you know, we might get really hungry man! … a breakfast item, snacks, appetizer, side dish, salad, or dessert. Your Woodstock (uh, I mean SCTC) hosts will provide water, drinks, even better drinks, main course meats off the BBQ grill, and tennis balls!
We’re gonna work up a big appetite … on the tennis courts! We’ll play a fast-paced switch partner format, and we’ll run the competition at 4.0+, 3.5 and 3.0 levels (with some overlap as needed) to give everyone plenty of competitive play! We have the courts at both Arguello and Carlmont available to us, so we have lots of capacity! For this Fun Day format, there will be no prizes … you know, because we’re ALL winners man!
Because we’re sharin’ our fabulous favorite dishes with each other man … this is, you know, totally cheap man … only $15 for SCTC Members and $20 for non-members!
